What this solves
New players sometimes leave the sketchbook early, buy fabric, and only then notice style bars were incomplete. Others reopen the pattern menu mid-campaign and feel lost among parts. The sketchbook exists to match the active commission's tags before money leaves the Emporium. Bars move when you change silhouette pieces. Fabric can reinforce tags but cannot fully rescue a mismatched shape. This page is the working order for that menu: read the card, swap parts, watch bars, stop when targets clear, then shop.
Step by step
- 1. Park the commission tags beside the menu
Note the required tags and any extras before you click parts. The menu answers that card, not your favourite forever outfit.
- 2. Change one region at a time
Swap bodice, then sleeves, then skirt or collar while watching which bars rise or fall. Single changes teach cause and effect faster than random full redesigns.
- 3. Leave only when targets are clear
Incomplete bars are a stop sign. Do not enter the Emporium hoping silk will fix a missing tag. Finish the pattern pass first.
- 4. Re-open the menu when the card changes
A new major commission from the same client can demand a different silhouette. Revisit the pattern menu instead of forcing the last dress into a new brief.
Common mistakes
- Shopping fabric before sketchbook bars are clear.
- Changing every part at once and learning nothing about the bars.
- Reusing yesterday's silhouette on a new tag set.
- Assuming pattern pieces are cosmetic only and ignoring style targets.
